The UCSD Equestrian Team is a part of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), and our team of roughly 20 women competes throughout our fall and winter season to quality for IHSA Regionals, Zones, and ultimately Nationals. We compete in Zone 8 Region II, which includes University of Southern California, UCLA, University of San Diego, Arizona State, Cal Poly Pomona, and several other Southern California and Arizona Schools.

 

UCSD Equestrian competes on the IHSA Hunt Seat circuit. Riders compete in Hunt Seat Equitation from the Walk Trot division to the Open 3’3 division. Our home shows are held at venues such as Hansen Dam Horse Park, Del Mar Horse Park and Galway Downs.

 

The Hunt Seat team trains with Shayne Wireman at Chesnut Hills Equestrian in Bonsall.  Working student positions are available.

In addition to our individual lessons, our team meets every week, hosts bonding activities, attends away shows, and participates in philanthropies as a group.
